iPod/MP3 on 99 TL

So I'm finally getting excessively frustrated with my 99 TL's inability to cleanly read CD-R's half the time.

Shows me the iPOD uplink, which now seems to go to the unit itself, not needing the blitzsafe adapter (to pass through RCA jacks).

1. Can someone confirm this?

2. Also, I'm thinking of not getting the mounting brackets and instead using the cable connections (fourth one down). I see the advantage of this being that I could plug something else into the headphone jack in the future. Is this possible? Additionally, I figure I can extend it using standard cables to the console storage compartment. Anyone have experience which says I can't do this?

3. Any real advantage to mounting it?

4. Any thoughts on this or the http://densionusa.com/merchant/merch...egory_Code=DMP digital music player mounted. I really don't care that much for removing the iPOD.

PS: No iPOD yet (but a Samsung Yepp MP3) so I'm not fixed into this solution if someone has a better idea.

I'd like to use the existing speakers and head unit preferably, mainly so that I don't need to deal with amps for the two front speakers.

Comments?

Seems fairly sweet. Might just make one instead, but the grunt work seems done for me. Any thoughts?
