I want to keep this car simple since I just spent over 10k in modding my 350z. can I keep the oem headunit and add my ipod. i dont want fm transmitter crap, but a nice hardwire would be great. let me know if its possible

 

yes. not sure if it is the same as the 03 cls, but if it is i have the blitz adapter for sale. on top of the adapter you would need to buy a cable that converts your ipod into rca's.

 

That will work, but that's just a line out adapter. Blitzsafe also makes a ipod adapter that will charge the ipod & has the ipod connector. I have had this adapter for 2 years now. Works great & easy to install.

It says you can control the ipod through the factory radio for around 150 bucks

 

On the 2nd gen TL & CL Ipod control is only volume & track advance. The HU has no other functions. However the ones that claim to be able to do it have not worked for everyone. I tried several & they didn't work. All I had was volume control.

 

i have been doing some research and the periphial seems to be the best one out there, but I dont know if it applies to the 2nd gen models

 

I tried that one. I tried the Dice also. I only got volume control on my car to work.

 

hmm do you have nav? mabye the external nav took up an additioinal pin or two...but what the hell do I know!
