RDX: iPhone 8 Text not Working

iPhone 8 Text not Working
In 2017 RDX Advanced the user menu says that my iPhone 8 does not support the text/email feature. This is strange since I just upgraded from a 5s and that worked. Is there some setting in the iPhone 8 I need to change to get the text/email feature to work?
