Interference noise in driver side tweater...
Interference noise in driver side tweater...
When I have the radio on and I hit the driver side door "lock" button there is an interference noise that goes through the driver side tweater...this only happens when I hit the "lock" button and when the radio is on (it does not happen when I hit the "unlock" button). When the radio is off there is no intereference noise at all. I also noticed every once in a while (easier to hear on AM or when the radio volume is low) a little crackling or popping noise (very soft) in the speakers....happends only every 5 minutes or so.
Just wondering if anyone here has had this happen to their TSX or has heard of this happening...my acura dealer told me it is common with TSX's..they worked on my car when it was one year old for 19 straight days for this very problem and could not figure it out...since then I have gone through 3 batteries and I think there may be a very serious electrical problem related to this that is causing the battery to wear down...I just took it in again to day and they said my battery is testing bad (had a new one replaced 5 days ago!!!). I took it in yesterday to see if they could figure out what the deal is with the lock button and the tweater interference. They told me that the technician tried it on a brand new TSX and a used one (same year as mine...2004) and the same interference noise occured when the radio was on while hitting the lock button. I have driven at least 5-10 TSX's as loaner cars and have never noticed this before. I think their are b.s.ing me. They also said the popping noise that happens every 5 minutes or so is due to my cell phone.
If they cannot figure this out...neither can Acura so they say...
Any suggestions?

I haven't noticed this with the locks, but I did get a little buzz thru the drivers tweeter when interior lights would dim slowly out. Example, car running and stereo on low, open the door and then close it. The interior lights dim slowly out and you can hear a light buzz thru the drivers side tweeter. Now that I have new speakers and amp, I still hear it, just a little louder now. Probably an issue with the factory deck since seems to be the cause for alot of weird noises and issues for most people.
re: Interference noise in driver side tweater...
I have not noticed that with the lights dimming. I will try and pay attention next time. Do you ever get a soft pop in the tweaters on AM or FM...you can hear it when the music is low or muted...
Acura told me it is most likely due to my cell phone?
