Installing amp + sub.
Hey, I have a 2000TL, i wanted a bit more bass out of the system so I went out and bought a Jensen 340 watt amp with a 250 watt RMS 10" pyramid sub in a sealed box for $100. What would be the best way to hook up the amp+sub without messing with the stock system. I want the stock sub to pump along with the Pyramid sub. I'm trying to install it but, for some reason my stock sub isn't pumping as much. Any suggestions?

Are you running a RCA connection from an aftermarket deck or do you have a factory dec? No problem keeping factory stereo if running RCA. If you still have factory deck, then you can splice into the the factory sub to run a RCA connection from that, that way the amp is getting just a low frequency. That's what I did on my car. Bridge the amp mono.

Run your power cord from the battery, install a fuse about 12 inches off battery, continue power cord thru firewall, and continue to run it to the truck of car.
Make sure you find a nice clean ground and bolt to chassis of car if you can.
for the RCA connection I bought this thing
My amp has just a left and right channel so i bridge it by putting two speaker wires in the + of the right channel and two speaker wires in the - of the left channel.
That's all that to it really.

By the way, you don't have to actually cut the wires on your factroy sub. Just expose the wire to the factory sub by carefully cutting the plastic coating away so you can wrap the wire from the RCA converter box to it. It's so easy and clean! Basicly your HU only sends lows to your factory sub, which makes it perfect for the RCA converter box, so it only sends lows to your amp.

Does your amp need RCA connections? Sounds like you just spliced in from the factory sub with some wires and then wired it to you sub using some screw down clamps. Is that correct? Does your amp have RCA connections?
I just took my box out of my car to get it ready for my 2007 TL, but I can take pics tonight to show you how I bridged mine. How many channel amp is yours.? Can you bridge it mono? Does it have built in cross overs?
