Installed Aftermarket Deck - Speakers not working!

Hey everyone,

I have a 2003 Acura CL-S6. So I recently installed my Pioneer AVIC-F700BT head unit. I had a wire harness and matched up all the correct wire colours together. But when I started up my car, the head unit powered on and everything, but there's no sound coming from the speakers!

Can anyone help me with this? Would be much appreciated.

Two things I can think of that could do that, make sure the internal amp is "on" in the settings on the head unit, or check for an external amplifier in the car that may need to be turned on with the head unit's remote signal wire.

Otherwise, you got me stumped.

I'll try that out. If it's worth mentioning, I did a quick search on the forum and found someone else with the same problem. I used a Scosche wiring harness which I guess doesn't bypass the factory amp. Do the metra wiring harnesses bypass the factory amp? If anyone knows... Thanks.

I used a PAC SOEM unit this past weekend on my install- required with a bose system like the one in the '03 CL with a factory amp. Two quick tips if you use this unit. 1. It is completely passive, which means that you do not hook up the power, ground, or remote wires that come out of the output side of the device. You only need to connect the speakers wires through the device and then all of the other wires connect directly from the aftermarket harness to the factory harness. 2) make sure you do not bump the speaker volume adjustment knobs when wiring up the device.- will screw with your sound

The unit is pretty bulky but I didn't have a problem with fitting it behind my new double din in my '03 CL.

make sure you connect the blue/white stripe wire coming out of the pioneer unit to the same color wire on your harness

Did you bypass the factory amp? #7 on the link is where the amp is located behind the trunk lining on the passenger side.
