Install pricing? on Avic D1 unit

How much should I expect to pay if I go to a local audio shop and have them install the D1 unit? I got it from the Street Effectz group buy so the most things needed (trim kit, harness, product) are there. I haven't done this kind of things before and don't really wish to mess up anything.

What do you mean? The D1 comes with a square black thing that I'm assuming is the antenna/GPS reciever. Isn't it?
You think they'll give me a discount if I buy speakers from the installer and have them install it?

We charge $150 to install the AVIC-D1 plus the cost of the dash kit.

If I do not replace the speakers, would it still sound good? Since the stock HU amplifies the speakers, I'm assuming that without it, the sound output will be bad?

The factory audio will sound better than it did before from just replacing the headunit - put it in, see what you think - if you want better sound, then replace the speakers - why spend the money if you like the difference in sound just from the new headunit?

Good advice there. Didn't think of it that way. Thanks

I've been going around trying to get installation estimates from shop around here. The price are rpetty around the same 150 ballpark figure.

An interesting thing occured

After asking about tapping into the factory sub (and after giving him some information I've gathered on the board from StreetEffects about this) he said that he'll have to get a wiring diagram for the amp from Honda and that it would cost him 9 bucks (or more) to download it.

Has anyone heard of this? The guy said he's been aorund for 15 years. But he doesn't know his way around an amplifier? Does this guy sound fishy to anyone?
