Question Improving the Audio System

Hello All,
I want to step up the audio system in my TL-s. I'm not looking for booming bass, but just good clear sound without distoriton. Should look to change out some of the speakers, all of the speakers, the deck. Let me know what you think is the best way to go.

Thanks in advance.

Check out this thread. djsteve talks about replacing the speakers. It's in his first response near the end.

What I did on my CL (and will probably move over to my TL) was add two Bazooka base tubes in the trunk. One with the built in amp, which powered the other. I had them hooked up to a switch so I could turn them on and off as desired. They weren't that big (6 1/2" woofer in each tube) they weren't expensive (less then $300 installed for both), they were pretty easy to install (a family friend did it for $25) and they added a good amount of bass without that booming bass sound!!

Turn your bass all the way to zero and turn the treble to about 1/4.

The problem with Bose systems and especially the one in the TL is that they are sorely lacking in midrange and the crossover point for the sub is too high (around 200Hz). It needs to be below 80 Hz to be omnidirectional.

It's not a real solution but it helps in the meantime.

Honestly, I'm not sure how it was wired, I'd have to find out for you. I'm pretty sure he used some line convertors on the install. I'll have to find out.....
