Ignition/remote wire

I'm trying to hook up a DC-DC power supply and there are 3 wires to it. Negative, positive, and a remote wire. The instructions say to hook up the remote wire to a Ignition/ACC line (anything that gets +12V when you turn the key but stays at zero when the key is out). Can anyone tell me an easy way to hook up this third wire?

Under the storage compartment in the dash, there you will find the stock amp. There is a White w/ Blue Stripe wire that is connected to the back of it. That is a switched power source. If your installing this in the trunk, you could tap into the navigation dvd drive (assuming you have nav). There is a Yellow w/ Red Stripe wire comming out from behind the drive on the small power connector.

It sounds from your post you are hooking up a computer? Either way just tap into the positive wire going to your cig lighter. That is the wire I am using to "turn on" my computer that is in the trunk.

Ooops! I made a mistake! The White/ w Blue Stripe wire is a constant! I had used that for the memory wire on my dvd player. Like hornyleprechaun said just tap into the cigarrette lighter. It has two wires. The one that's White /w Red Stripe is the switched power. You can tap into two different locations, next to the not an ashtray socket or to the armrest socket. Here's a picture of where I tapped into the armrest socket:

I just tapped into the wires under the cupholder.

Thanks for the information guys. But I was wondering members have posted that in the trunk near the left rear speaker there is a antenna power that can also work to hook up a remote. Is that true? The previous posts don't give much detail on this hook up. If there is any picture or detailed information that would definetly help. Yes, I'm hooking up a computer using the M2-ATX DC-DC ps which requires a remote connection for auto on/off for the pc.

tsx004 I have the M2 also and like I said I just ran a wire from the cig lighter in the dash to the trunk.. What kind of car do you own?

Edit: If you have seen members say they have used another 12v source in the trunk, you should just send them a message and ask how they did it.

thanks for the info. I found out through other threads that the amp remote would be best choise. Although many have also used the cig lighter option. I have a tsx.
