If anyone needs an xm commander ...
I bought an xm commander new off of Ebay for $99 + $11 shipping. The seller is actually Grubbs Infiniti in Texas. They have a site and are selling them on their site for $99 plus shipping. Here is a link:

The acutal site is www.grubbsinfiniti.com (click on parts, then sat radio)
I emailed them to make sure they were not refurbished ... brand new.
I thought this was a good price after comparing prices.

The data bus used in most cars (and aircraft) nowdays is the CAN Bus that was developed in Germany.

The protocol is extrememly flexible and extensible, which can make it difficult to read unless only the standard commands are used (or you have a decoder ring).
This may help if you like home projects:

Oooops!
My posting above ended up in the wrong spot (obviously!)
I did a "Post Reply" which then sent me to the registration page. After registering, the TSX site routed me back to my response page ... but I guess it sent me to the wrong thread.
Sorry for the confusion!
