I Think i blew my Front Speakers
im not sure...but when i play some music in my car, i hear this popping sound, and i don't know a lot about car audio, but from what ive heard, thats not a good thing....did i blow my speakers? can it be repaired? or does it have to be replaced....will it be covered under warranty...i bought my 2004 SSM TL w/ NAVIGATION back in september of 04 and i think one of the reasons the speakers blew was because im more of a person that likes bass, and i always have the volume up to get the bass..because adjusting it on the navi screen isn't enough so more sound is fun ...can someone please direct me in the right direction..what im most concerned with is if its covered under warranty

im having streeteffectz build me a dual custom enclosure in the trunk which will give me all the bass i need, as the TL's system is great, i don't really think id need an upgrade....i mean if everything is covered by warranty...then why not just replace them with the stock speakers if they are good...

If you like the stock system, then its cool. I personally think its kinda flat and dull sounding

Our 3rd gens. have Bass, Treble, and Subwoofer controls. my sub lvl is hooked up to the amp w/ a line lvl converter. If your blown speakers aren't covered under warrenty you can go to aucraparts247.com and order each one for $40 something a piece.

not an acura, its a topaz
you should upgrade, the difference between stock and good aftermarket is a humongous difference. quality wise and sound quality. just because it says bose on it doesn't mean that its good

Well if he doesnt want to upgrade there is nothin wrong with that. Oh yeah, and the 04-05 TL systems are designed by Elliot Shiner, under the name ELS.

i was thinking that, but it would be cheaper to do it all at once....would it HONESTLY make that much of a difference? i mean the TL's system is rated as a very good system and won lots of awards, would upgrading the rest of the speakers be expensive/worth it?...(elduderino) this is where u come in and suggest..

well although you can place the quality of a system on different awards and what not and reviews from magazines, in my opinion, it comes down to what you like. If you enjoy the stock system and have no problem with it, then don't upgrade at all. It will save you time and money. But if you do not like the stock system, we can help you choose the right components and get you on your way. It seems like you are trying to justify upgrading for the wrong reasons.

sorry if it comes off like that, upgrading is a possibility for me, if its not so expensive then i'd go for it, but if it is around 500 dollars for a set of new speakers front and door and rear, then i don't think itd be worth it (personally)

well from my experience, if you're gonna upgrade, do it right. I've taken the cheap way out before and in the end it hasn't paid. in my experience, if your gonna upgrade, do a solid job of it and spend the necessary amount of money and don't cut corners. you basically need to make the decisions if your are gonna upgrade or not, then set a budget, and if its workable then go with it. If the budget isn't really practical then wait a bit untill you can expand your budget, or buy your system piece by piece. it still seems like yuo are on the fence on the thought of upgrading. do you know what i mean? im not tryin' to sound like a dick

nah it dosn't sound like a dick....what ur saying is true..i AM on the fence about it, i mean...the TL being my first car, i dont' really have others to compare too, so when i first listened to the stock system, it blew me away, the only problem i had was the Subwoofer wasn't loud enough for me, and i think if i just get the speakers replaced under warranty then ill be fine...if thats possible..
