i just got some under dash lights from a buddy and i wanted to wire them through the cigarette lighter for power and add a switch so i can shut them off during the day.
i thought alright doesnt sound to hard but when i took my car apart to do it the lighter has at least 5-7 different wires and i have no idea what is what :/
if anyone out there in Acura land can help i would GREATLY appreciate it.

There should only be 2 wires. I can double check my service manual but you are tapping into the socket near the radio, not the one below the armrest right?

 

Might I suggest you tapping into the power to the parking lights? That way you won't have to remember to turn on and off.

Tap into the parking light wire, or fuse (in the 3G TL it's in a red wire cluster behind the VSA button). That wire to switch, then other end of switch will be your positive to your lights and then you ground it, of course.
