how too head rest TV's

ok its been a while so if i miss a step...DEAL WITH IT haha. OK first things first find TV's that will fit your head rests. I used 5.6 in XO vision TFT screens.

1. Remove the headrest from the seat and take it out. If you dont you will have a hell of a time doing this.

2. Take the screen itself with no bracket or mounting kits and line it up on the headrest. Mark with pencil or something that will wipe off the corners.

3. Take a ruler and find the center point from all the corners of the screen on the headrest. use a razor blade and cut the head rest in an "X" from corner to corner and then pull out the stuffing. Not too much just enough to fit the screen in.

4. This is the tricky part on the XO vision screens the mounting bracket had a lip that was on it. to get it to fit i had to grind it off. Place the bracket inside the headrest. If it is not centered or have enough support place some of the stuffing back in behind it and under it to support it.place the leather inside the brackedget a glue gun or epoxy and glue down the leather JUST ON THE INNER LIP OF THE BRACKET. Then use the razor and cut off the excess. You have to make sure you run the wires down through the headrest befor you place the screen in there or you are gonna have a hard time pulling the screen out.

5. To get the screen in you will have to force fit it. It will never come out haha. Have fun any questions feel free to msg me.

OK, thanks fr the pics. Some points:

1) The TSX HR is narrower than yours. I don't think your info is applicable to the TSX. I think the screens would have to be too small, and like yours, not wide-screen (4:3 instead of 16:9).

Somebody posted here with a TSX a while back and used the gray leather HR from the family Caravan, since it matched and was wide enough for a monitor. I bet that you could order HR from some other car, that still matched, using the Vizualogic or SAAV or other HR program.

2) The HR you are using protrude a lot, and the bucket seems to have a sharp corner. Audiovox, Directed, and Rosen all offer a 7" widepanel with a much more flush bucket and panel mount, without the sharp corner, and with a nicer flange. I would suggest looking at that one if you are going with a bigger headrest.

Here's a picture:

if you want pix of the screens go look in the gallery i have some in there just search for me. I still need to take more. Run the wires down the headrest and into the seat where the headrest slides into you can pull the leather out a lil bit and run the wires down. Take the plastic off the back of the seats and you can run the wires easily. If you dont take the plastic off you will have a hell of a time doing it. Hope this helps.

No, he's talking about pulling the leather away from the plastic HR trim ring so there is room for the wires to go inside.

If you look at the inside of the outboard trim ring I think you can see his wires:

If you try this remember to heat the material a bit with a blow dryer to make it more flexible, esp. in cold weather... but not too much, don't want to stretch it and ge wrinkles!

Pic of Vizualogic 04 Accord preinstall product:

http://www.vizualogic.com/common_products/headrests/models/honda_accord.html#accord_2003

MSRP is $1400 per pair of 7" screens in headrests. Plug and play.

Let the complaining begin : )

I took this picture befor the job was finished so the back of the seat is still off. if you look at the bottom of the pic you can see that.

the tubes that hold up the headrest are solid so there is no choice but to run them on the side. as long as the head rest is down you can not see them.

This is a CL so the tsx might be different not sure do not rember

Yes it is feasible. If you do it your self. I got my screens for a hook up price...and I already had the PS2. You will need a distribution box for th RCA's from the xbox to the screens also a power converter. I have my in my arm rest. Ran all the wires under the carpet and have the PS2 mounted in the rear seat armrest. So when it folds down there is my PS2. Good luck. alos will need a FM modulator or a SNhond3. I am using an FM modulator becuase im dreading pulling the dash apart again...it sucks.

Your right the wiring is the hardest part running it under the carpet and under the rear seat to the back of the PS2 ...cut my self a few times.

splicing wires and setting things up, running it through the actual headrest poles etc...its not easy, the wiring is probably the most undesirable part
