How to tap a mono input signal?
I was looking at a Class D amp. The amp has a single mono input jack and built in low pass crossover.
How do I get a single mono input from the stock system?
If I tap both rear channels (before the bose amp) and use a Y-connector (2 RCAs into 1) will the rear speakers become mono?
Could I just tap the left (or right) channel, or would the rear speaker volume become unbalanced due to the tap?
thanks

You could use a Y cable or just pick a side, I doubt you will notice a difference. You hardly ever see a kick or bass on the left or right side only in a mix.

I'm going to try a Y-connector. I'll set the fader to the rear and see if the L-R balance still works. If it does not, I'll know the y-connector bridged the rear channels to mono. This will only be temporary anyway.
This is the amp ....

One input jack. Gotta love the banana style speaker and remote jacks!
