I know there are different models of HUs out there, so I was curious what some of you guys with Alpine have paid. Also, what kind of prices are there for Alpine DSPs/Equalizers? Thanks for your help.

 

well, i had an alpine in my honda civic that basically ran the show, i paid $600 for it, but it was well worth it, no need for a eq, because alpine is so high end and refined i truly believe they are the best head units, and i wouldn't buy anything else! Make sure you look for 4v preout which means each speaker will cuntinuously get that much of rated power the head unit offers!!

a 4v preout has nothing to di with the rated power per channel. 4v, and 8v preouts give a better signal to your amp so that you do not need to bring your gains up as high. This is a simplified explanation.

you shouldnt pay more than 500(with install) for any alpine single din unit, except the new phantom face ones and of course little things like dvd players =)
