how to hook up 12v headunit to DC power?

hey guys, i need some help. i was wondering, how do you install a car headunit at home? kinda like at the car audio shop demo wall. i have an extra headunit with a blown right front channel that would make for an interesting project. i'm hooking up the MD player that goes with it as well. (kenwood kdc-x815 and kmd-d400) do you think this would work? i want to fade the rear all the way to the back and hook those into my home receiver. i'll turn the crossover off so i'll be getting a full range of frequencies right? but,my main question is, how do i wire it up so that the headunit will turn on with DC power? Thanks!
