How does this price sound on install?
I just got my quote from my audio install company and this is what i got.......
Alpine CDA-9815 Headunit........... ..$370
Focal 165KP Front Components........$462
Focal 165CA Read Coaxials.............$199.95
Eclipse EA3422 4CH Amp................$249.95
2 12"Rockford Fosgate RFP4412.....$259.90
Rockford Fosgate 501BD AMP.........$251
Box..............................................$ 67.27
Misc Cables/Adapters.....................$301.55
Product Total..................................$2160.72
Install........................................... ..$385
Taxes............................................. .$223.90
TOTOAL...........................................$ 2769.62
How does this sound? comes with a 3 year warranty and they do quality insalls, not a circuit city but not as custom as streeteffectz.
The subs are about $100 dollars over priced and so are the rear coaxils. But i already substitured the front spearks which their quote was 700 and the amp for the sub was 500 so i saved $750. If i start bringing in too many "out of store" items my install price will go up so the extra $200 doesnt bother me. Thoughts and comments please.

One more thing. I am a diehard fan of Rockford amps, but theres subs is another story, Unless its Hx2 sub. Do u have any other choices with subs, I had a 500bd powering one 12 solobaric and that there was pretty damn loud. You got a nice SQ setup going so I was jsut suggesting one good subwoofer. Also u will love the 9815, I like it better than the 7897 I had.

nice system.. but for as much as you are gonna spend with this shop i think they could give you a little break on the poly k components... i have seen them on the net for like $300.... and the poly k2 are like $330.... plus the focal 165ca are a little high... i also agree with dnd on the sub.... why rockford.... why not focal, jl, or image dynamic... i also would try to match the amps... and personal i would go with zapco, diamond audio, arc audio, or phoenix gold... just my thoughts...

Sounds like a very good price on the install. I cringe every time I think of how much it cost me. :banghead:
With regards to the sub, what other brands do they carry?

This is my current setup:
Front Stage: CDT HD-63DT-S
Rear Fill: CDT CL-5X
Sub: Image Dynamics IDQ 10 (ported thru removed factory sub)
Front Stage Amp: a/d/s P450 (150 WRMS X 2)
Rear Fill Amp: Eclipse 36201 (50 WRMS X 2)
Sub Amp: Precision Power PPI 2400 (400 WRMS X 1)
Head Unit: Eclipse 8053
Custom Sub Box and Amp Rack
Stinger Wiring and Cables
Cascade Sound Dampening on all doors and trunk.
Before that I had an AudioLink interface between the stock HU and aftermarket amps. Along with an AudioControl EQ, it sounded pretty good. I went ahead and upgraded to an aftermarket HU, but I was getting some great sound from the stock HU with aftermarket speakers and amps.
The first install took nearly a week to finish. Sound dampening the doors and trunk took more time than I had thought (and the installers, too). When it was all said and done, I was really pleased with it, especially the look of the chrome PPI amp and speaker cover. The problem though is that it takes up a lot of trunk space. The install cost me twice as much as what Beason was quoted on.

Yeah, I've been wanting to take pictures of everything but my digital camera sucks. I'll see if I can borrow a better one and post some pics soon.

I've now since "liquidated" the changer and have the HU in a Metra kit.
