You won't be able to plug a sub into the stock amp, directly.

You will need either a powered sub (like an Infinity Basslink) or an sub and amp combo. My friend got a brand new Basslink off eBay for $220 shipped and it sounds good.

There are several ways to hook the additional amp to the stock system, all of which are pretty easy to do.

Hope this helps, even though it isn't exactly what you wanted to hear.

I'd also like to add some more bass to my system but don't have a lot of $$$ to spend, and was thinking of a Basslink also.

I noticed another post where you mention that an easy way is to tap the wires going into the rear deck speakers as long as the amp/sub will accept this type of input. Does the Basslink allow for this easy setup?

Any advice would be great!

Yes it does accept speaker level inputs. Hooking up the signal wires really is easy.

You will be able to tap a turn on lead in the trunk pretty easily (using the turn on lead for the stock amp) as well.

The hardest part of the install will be running a power wire from the battery to the trunk. Silvernight has some good instructions on the best way to route that wire floating around here somewhere.

Here's a link to Crutchfield's page on the basslink; speaker level inputs is what you were looking for:
