Hooking up car amp.. Opps
Yeah.. I'm a dumbass.. A couple of variables here led me to where I am..
A. it was late and I was in a hurry.
B. When I first installed the first amp (6 months ago or so) i used a red wire for the ground.
The jist of the story is this; I attached the car battery to the amp ground and the car ground to the amp battery. Re-attached the battery ground at the battery and the fuse blew.. No smoke, no smell, just blown fuse.. Didn't have any more fuses so I just waited to troubleshoot today till I could get some more fuses.
I got the fuses and went to put one into the amp, then realized my mistake of the switched polarity . Switched the polarity on the amp to be correct. Installed fuse, connected battery then the fuse blew again. Tried about 5 fuses and each one blew.
Did I toast the amp?
I have been installing stereos into my cars since I was 16 and this is the first time I have ever done this.. I feel like a complete dumbass.

^^ Ill un-hook everything tonight and re-hook it back up. Maybe something else is messed up..
I still can't believe that I did what I did in the first place. I just hope I didn't fry the amp. The fuse should have stopped any permanent damage from being done, in my mind anyways. Kind of what that fuse is there for.

I made sure that it was all hooked up the other day and the same thing kept happening.. I too thought it was a ground issue. Moved the ground and it still did it..
I have fried an amp too so I know the symptoms.. Usually smoke and that burnt electronics smell.. None of that happened.. I'm really at a loss with this thing. It is blowing my mind.
pun intended

If you really wanna try and pinpoint the issue start from scratch and reinstall everything, maybe ur power wire( after fuse) is touching ground somewhere don give up yet usually a fuse won blow unless ur touching ground even if ur amp is fried it will usually just go in protect mode, btw I know a guy that repairs amps if ur interested
