Mike, there are rubber stoppers in the hood just like in the trunk... I'm sure you know about the way to remove the rattles from the trunk, do the same to the hood..
For others that don't know the way to remove "most" of the rattles from the trunk.... There are rubber stoppers that are threaded on one end and screwed clock wise into the hood and the trunk.. To give more resistance when the hood and trunk are closed, hence minimizing alot of the rattles, just turn the rubber stoppers counter-clockwise a few turns, I think they only turn three or four times total, they have wide threads.
Once I did this to my trunk I eliminated almost all of the rattles coming from the trunk lid and hood.... I now am hearing more rattles from other places, sunroof and the plastic insert in the visor too!
If you have any suggestions on the sunroof rattle....help me out...
Keep us informed on the undercar rattleing, I'll check mine as well...

When I found them it was like night and day..... now you can actually hear the bass outside the trunk without the embarrassing rattle...
residual...
thanks a lot for all your help.
do you think a car can start "falling" apart from a system?? either its me or i notice each time i hit a bump now something is squeeking/rattling, either my roof or door...
and when i open the window halfway and close the door, the window bangs around (is yours tight (can you move it towards you and into the car) or is it rtight?? i hope im paranoid.

Don't think my window moves that much.. I'll check though.
If you open your trunk, look on the LID of the trunk.. There will be four rubber stoppers in the LID of the trunk.. two different kinds of stoppers and two of each kind, hence the total of four. Now the two stoppers on the outsides are threaded into the trunk lid, simply unscrew the stopper a couple of turns.... The rubber stoppers will be out a little further now... so when the trunk closes...it pushes up harder, eliminating most of the rattle..
The rattle comes from the trunk being "loose" enough to "shake" while it is in the latch... With the trunk pushing up it holds tight to the latch and stops mostly all of the trunk rattle... now you will probably hear the licence plate rattle instead of the trunk..
I hope that was a little clearer..
