hissing sound with factory head

Just had a system installed (two amps; 12"; 6x9's; 6 1/2's) connected to the factory head. There is a hissing sound that is audible when the system is turned on. Would using a better line out converter help to eliminate this problem? Please advise.

Either that or a bad connection/ground somewhere

i also have 2 amps, 1 hooked up to the factory speakers and 1 to the sub, with the factory head. while the sound is real good at higher volume, the hissing sound will not go away at low volume. i've heard several setups done in this way and they all give the hissing noise. the only fix i know is to get an aftermarket headunit. i like the setup though.

i forgot to mention that the hissing noise on my setup comes from the amp to speakers setup... nothing to do with the sub and its amp.

Thanks for the input. I installed a noise filter on one amp. I still seem to be getting a winding type noise along with the hissing. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

if the power line is next to the RCA cable sometimes the power can leak into the rca and that is the wirring that u hear on ur speakers.. just check out ur rca and make sure its not too close to any power cables
