I'm looking for some opinions on what you guys like for high end component and 6x9 speakers. I've had alpine 6x9's and coustic components. I liked the coustic speakers a lot, but wasn't too impressed with the Alpines.

What is your preference to use for bass? I don't listen to rap, so I would prefer something that isn't drounding to the mids and highs. I have a 10" bazooka right now, and it sounds "pretty" good, but it all depends on the trunk enclosure you use with it. It sounded so much better in my '95 ES300. I like a lot of bass, but like I said, it can't dround everything else out.

I personally like Focal speakers (a bit pricey) and JL Audio subs. I have them in my 300ZX, the 1st thing people say is that the stereo is crystal clear.

 

What amps and headunit are you using? Are you using high end cabling? I pretty have used Monster cable throughout.

 

The Lexus speaker gurus reccommend without a shadow of a doubt Dynaudio's they are real expensive but from our understanding just replacing the speakers in the stock system it sounds way better than the 5k Mark Levinson one.

I just bought the focals utopia 165w and getting them installed next week... i can tell ya how they sound when its done... i cant wait!!

I've got a Zapco 360 running the speakers and a Zapco 350 running the sub. The headunit is an Alpine (I forgot the model #) and I have an Alpine graphic EQ. All of the cables are high end cables...my theory is if you're going to do it do it right the 1st time or you'll kick yourself as you do it the 2nd time.
