I have a 98tl with kenwood kvt910 dvd and kenwood e.q. my question is, I have a jlaudio 13.5 w7 and a kenwood kac-ps400m mono amp the amp says that it's 1200 mono at 2ohm do i need more power for this sub?

 

if you are able to push the RMS of the speaker you should be great dont over power it and dont under do it. it will be better to over do it then not...

 

first of all is the 1200w rated as rms or peak... my beat is its peak power... which means the rms value will be somewhere around 850w @ 2ohms.. since the jl 13w7 is a 3ohm speaker i would say that you are acutally putting about 650w if that to the speaker... that is plenty enought power to get good sound out of the speaker but you will not be seeing the full potential of the w7 if you only drive half the reccomended power into it.... now if the amp is actually 1200w rms then you would be putting about 900w into the speaker which should be plenty....
