i have a pioneer mp370 HU and stock speakers in my 2000 acura TL

the other day i was driving over some bumpy roads, and noticed that everytime my car hit a bump a loud POP would blast from the speakers. it sounded like popping and cracking, or like parts of my car were getting hit by concrete, it was also pretty damn loud and nearly scared the shit out of my girlfriend who was riding shotgun



what the hell is this!!!!!! i also noticed that smoke was coming from behind my head unit, so i took it off and it was HOT


WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!!! the HU is less than 6 months old...think pioneer will replace it?

 

Ummmmm.. When the headunit is smoking and smoking hot turn it off and uninstall. I would return it ASAP wherever you purchased it..

I'm not going to attempt to troubleshoot the pooping noise when obviously the problem lies right in front of you.. Not trying to be a dick just stating the facts..

everything keeps breaking on my car

 

alrite im starting to think its not the cd player..it wasnt smoking that bad it was just tiny wisps because i was using it for a while


but the popping is only coming from the front passenger side speaker, and it also happens when im just using the radio and not the cd player


is there a way i can disconnect my speaker and play the cd player on the other 3, and see if the popping still happens. my car has high mileage and since i took my subs out its safe to say ive been abusing my stock speakers pretty bad

help me trouble shoot this...btw i own a 2000 acura TL. i would really like to get into the front speaker and check it out...how do i do this

 

crap i just realized that my speaker wires are still installed in the car, and the ground wire may have touched bare metal because it isnt grounded right now....can this be causing it?? maybe the speaker isnt bad but its getting huge feedback

bump help me out!!! the ground wire is not touching any metal so i still cant find out what this is

 

stock amp worn out? if its a 2000, thats pretty early for it to be messing up, but did you install the headunit yourself?
