HELP! He accidentally cut the antenna wire...

HELP! He accidentally cut the antenna wire...
My roommate, having to take his kenwood deck out of his jeep that he just traded in, accidentally cut the antenna wire! It looks coaxial. What do I need to rewire a new male antenna plug???

You can buy a new cable from radio shack. Unplug the antenna, Tie the end of the new cable to the old at the radio side, & snake it through as you pull the old cable out from the antenna side.

Hold on hold on.....

He cut the wire about an inch from the back of the radio....

Oh I see. He cut the wire comming from the back of the radio. Not sure then. I thought it was the antenna cable in the Jeep that was cut. Sorry.

I took care of it...I just bought an extention and spliced, soldered, taped and heat shrunk the line. It works fine.
