In my infinite wisdom I forgot to see how the left spring was attached to drive the flip door for the "not an ashtray" XM Commander install. The way I reinstalled it works but it makes a clicking noise. I don't remember it doing that. This is the spring that flips the little white arm into place to complete the flip up/down action.

Any of you who've removed this to install an XM Commander remember how it goes? I can't figure it out to save my life. Thanks! Sorry for the bad picture, the spring is slightly blurred but should be good enough to give you an idea.

 

god, i could tell you how to replace the spring but from that pic its hard to tell. i dont have one taken apart in front of me to describe how it goes back together. seems to me the spring wraps around the pivot point where the screw holds the door to the console unit.,

 

Why not just look on the cubby? It has the same thing.

 

The other cubby is very different but I finally figured it out. The straight part of the spring fits in a little slit on the edge of the pocket and the spring needed to be rotated. Thanks for the replies.
