Folks, I've been trying to get the correct information to put some audio equipment into my 2003 CL Type S 6MT Navi.

The the shop I went to was not sure how to put the stuff in without messing up the navigation. I've been searching all night on this site and just getting more confused. I'd really appreciate if anyone could just give me a few links with the accurate info.

Here is the gear I want to get in before the meet in Hopkinton MA on 4/24/06.

Any and all feedback, advice and links is welcome and appreciated. I'd also like recommendations of good installers in Southeastern Mass and Cape Cod.

 

You'll lose the Navigation voice and steering wheel controls but with the "Steering wheel interface PAC SWI-ALP" you'll be fine with the steering wheel controls.. But will lose the Navigation voice. Print out the amp install directions in the DIY Thread at the top of the page. It will make things Alot easier for them. If they are still confused after looking at the directions then you may want to take it to another shop..

Now the XM Tuner you want to install I am not sure about. Doesn't the 03-CLS come with XM already built in?

No CLs had XM.

I know the DIY page you mentioned. CLs are at the top.

Actually, since Acura and CL is always first alphabetically. I usually is first in any automotive list.

 

Maybe it's just onstar and not satellite radio like I'm thinking...

 

First off, that's the wrong steering wheel interface you have, that's the ALPINE interface you purchased. Secondly, you can get back the navi voice with a simple hands free kit speaker and tap the navi voice output from the navi dvd rom player. You can also grab the mute wire from there and via relay, attach that to the new headunit mute wire and still have mute when the navi talks.

Not quite sure why the shop you went to would think they would screw up the navigation?? I assume they've never installed a system in an Acura before?
