Help!!!

I was putting my seat foward and heard a pop from the right speakers. Now all my right speakers do not work. The left speakers still work but no sound from the right. My subs won't work either.

Can anyone explain to me what the problem could be? Could the stock amp be fried or maybe my speakers might be blown?

The popping and the cutting out of the right speakers had happened before when I moved the seat foward, but the speakers came back on when I moved the seat foward. But they didn't come on this time.

I've had the JL ProWedge 10W3 with a JL 250/1 amp in my car for about a year now and have had no problems until now...

Someone please help...Thanks

Sounds like a loose connection.

Maybe you clipped a wire when the seat came forward. I'd look for loose wires under the seat.

I checked under my seats and there were no loose wires.

Could this be a fuse problem, if so which fuse should I be looking at because I only saw one that dealt with the radio?

Since it happened as the seat was moving foward, is there anything else I should be looking at?

Could it be an amp problem?

Explain your setup. Stock radio, amp and speakers with aftermarket sub?
1. Are you using OEM speakers? If not, how are they wired?
2. It is not a fuse because speakers are not running off fuses. Your left speaker still work so the fuse to your amp and the radio is not blown.

I'm using OEM speakers and the OEM amp. The subs are powered by a separate amp. The rear speaker wires are tapped before they hit the stock amp.

Thanks for your help.

This is a weird one.

Did you run any wires past your seat to hook your JL Amp up?

Does the JL Amp tap both rear speakers? Or just one side?

There is a bass control that is hooked up by the passenger side seat. There are rca's runnin by the passenger side passed the seat for the bass control.

The Amp tapped both speakers.

Thanks for the help.

This is weird. Sounds like half of your Bose amp or the head unit output went out or something is very wrong to cause speakers to blow. If your car is still covered by warranty, I would remove the sub and amp then take it to a dealer to have it checked out. If not, splice the wires to debug. Maybe this is your chance to go the aftermarket route. Good luck.

Yeah, Silverknight is right. This sounds like it could be bad.

You might try unhooking the sub amp (probably just the speaker wires that are tapped to the rear speakers) and see if that makes any difference.

Other than that, I dunno what else you might try other than tearing everything apart and splicing into wires to see what is working and where.

Sorry to hear about your system!
