Driving to the gym today and i blew my 15. THe sub said it can handle 600 watts RMS and 1200 Peak, I was sending 500 watts rms to it. O well back to my Alpine Type R 12.

 

I took the sub out the box and just a cloud of smoke came out. The voice coil is totally fried.

Distortion can also blow your woofer if your not sending it the right frequency. Also the box size can blow yours speaker if it's the wrong specs.

 

I believe it might have been the box. I have had this woofer for a while and last week I took it out my car to fix couple of air leaks and i took the poly fill out the box. When i put the woofer back in it was very tight. I mean it woudnlt even move.
