Headunit question?

Headunit question?
i was wondering on the stock 2001 tl why is there two wiring harnesses the bigger harness looks like power, ground, speakers, ect. but what the smaller for???

the smaller plug is takes the signal and loops it thru the eq and back into the headunit to get amplified before it is sent out to the speakers by the larger plug...

where is the eq located is it built into the radio?

Yeah I was wondering how the EQ setup worked...surprised its not built into the head unit...is it auto adjusting or something???

the eq is located just above the stock radio in the dash... it is not built into the stock headunit...
