Headphones

Hello everyone, I hope this is the right section to place this in but if not mods please move to the correct. As of recently I started using a lot more public transportation for work and am looking into investing in a pair of headphones. I do not like ear buds. I was thinking about a pair of the studio beat by dre but then got to thinking there has to be headphones that have the same features if not better at a more reasonable price. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of any. I would really like to have noise cancelling/isolation, clean sound, etc. Not really looking for the name brands that you pay for the name such as bose, beats, etc.. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Honestly for those price ranges the Monster inspiration headphones are by far the best build, quality, and most comfortable headphones I've ever owned, and that's been a lot
I work at best buy and always get to try out then latest and greatest and that's them. They split from beats and were the driving force in what made beats get on the map so the quality is known. But tthey're better than the old beats. To go cheaper, the DNAs aren't noise canceling but are very good and have a flexible head band so you don't need to worry about over extension.

I know you don't like ear buds but there's a pair of blue Sony buds for $15 that are the best bang for the buck headphones I've ever owned. Lasted me forever and if they go bad I'm getting more. I wouldn't pay for any headphone aside from them unless they were the Monsters. The base and treble is amazing. Give them a shot I implore you.

^You gonna trust someone who can't spell "bass"?

go through the reviews of closed full-size headphones here:

The guys on this site are huge audiophiles. I'd recommend against open-ear designs as they'll leak a lot of sound out and don't cancel noise well. Go for something that has "DJ" in front. It'll block noise well and is durable. Also look for a "1" as I'm going to assume you won't have a headphone amp with you.
