Head Unit cuts out- Help please!

I have completed the polk mod about 8 months ago and now my sound cuts out after about 30 seconds. Is it possible that the terminals are grounding out against the door frame to produce this effect? The dealer has checked out the HU and the amp and now wants me to buy an EQ since this is the only item that has not been replaced!

Thanks for any help!

Don't buy the EQ. You have a problem and it will not be the cure. If the dealer did the HU/SPKR install have him check his work. The HU is cutting out to protect its self.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering if there was a thermal protection, or something like it in the unit to self protect.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Problem solved - Thanks

Thanks for the advice Batman. I was able top locate a speaker terminal that I think was grounding out against the metal door frame. This was easily solved. I hope this experience helps someone else down the road and ends up beeing a lot less frustrating.
