HDD pause between songs 6 seconds?

Hi guys. New to this forum. Also new to owning an MDX (2011) with HDD NAV system. I have a bit of a strange question- I've successfully loaded about 1000 songs onto my HDD and they all play fine, but when I put the library on "shuffle" the time it takes between songs is exactly 6 seconds. Now, I know that doesn't look like much but it is very noticeable when you hear silence for that long. Is anyone here familiar with this issue or how to solve it? My dealer was zero help (of course!). Thanks in advance.

Does no one else have this problem? Does anyone even load their HDD with music or am I the only loser who does this?

no mdx here, but curious if you had to rip the cd's onto the HDD or was it a file transfer? There is an inherent gap (delay time) that can be set between songs when ripping tracks onto a computer (EAC software).
If you only transferred music files to this hdd, then what delay do you here on other players using the original tracks? I'm curious if its the MDX or source files that have the delay.

No, all tracks were ripped from CDs (all burned in iTunes with zero gap between tracks). I know what you were getting at, but even if I didn't do ensure there were no gaps the standard gap between songs is only 2 seconds, which I could tolerate. But 6 seconds is just way too long. It's strange because it only puts this 6 second gap in when I put it on shuffle. If I don't use the shuffle feature the songs play fine.

I experienced this issue and more. I am still in the weeds. I have 2011 MDX and I started ripping my music down to it. The HD got about 1/3rd full, and the system started reporting that the HDD was full and it couldn't continue ripping. I'd pull out the CD and re-insert it and it would continue.

I also noticed your issue.....that when I was on random track play, I would get inconsistent and often lengthy pauses ( I counted 20 seconds once) between tracks.

FYI, they replaced my HD, which I did not think was my issue, and I am getting back to the point of about 1/3 full, and I got the message (HDD Is Full) again.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe I should ask to have the HDD replaced. My dealer told me that I should clear my HD and re-install all the music because - according to them- I put in a faulty disc. That's just complete nonsense and typical dealer stuff. I thought Acura might have better customer service since I paid so much for the f'ing car, but I guess they're like all the rest.

PS> 20 seconds? That's an eternity.
