Hardwire a Radar Detector

Ok, so the cord has finally driven me insane. I need to know how to hardwire my radar detector. I have a Cobra XR1010. I mainly need to know where to connect the cord so it turns on with the car. Also, can I buy a cord at radio shack without the coils, or do I have to use the coiled cord.

You might be interest in using a cordless radar detector instead. Check out the Bel 946.

You don't want the cordless model (The Solo). Range is significantly less than a corded detector.
