How hard is it to cut thin plexi glass?

 

How thin are you talking? 1/8 1/4 1/2?

I played around with it before and it's not that bad... depends on how important it is to you to have the edge perfectly smooth.

You should be able to just use a jigsaw... it tends to melt while it cuts. Just take a small scrap piece and cut it for practice first.

What are you making?

 

I use the dremel to cut it. I have a bit for cutting plastic. Then I have a guide on the dremel and I use a ruler, so I can cut perfectly straight. I tried a jig saw, but it sucks. The dremel worked out the best for me. Cut 1/4 inch. just remember to use high speed.

 

A utilty knife cuts very nice straight lines. Clamp down a straight edge to guide you and you'll be fine.
