I've been dying to hack my system, to at least get rid of the "OK" screen. Have come up with nothing. I have one friend who knows assembly language, LOL but I can't convince him to try and figure out the files on the DVD.

on the dvd there's a folder with a boot file that when opened in something like notepad lists a couple of options of delays and things. Maybe the ok thing can be done by changing one of these text lines.
other folders on the dvd are a ".apn" file which from my research appears to be a propriatary alpine filetype.
I've also learned that alpine stores images in these files so I think it might be possible to change images/colors by changing these files. Of course there doesn't seem to be any program which will do this.![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
maybe it's time to file a petition with Acura/Alpine for an update to the older 2000-2003 nav systems?

Interesting. The tricky part for me so far, in the little bit I've played with it, is reburning the image to a DVD after I back it up. Worth playing with I suppose. :-)

if we can figure it out, ill redesign the whole interface (im a graphic designer) and share it.....but the stressful thing is not only figuring out how to redesign the interface, but burning it perfectly onto a dvd.....and i think the dvd doesnt have to do with the interface... correct me if im wrong.....

the dvd might not have to do with the interface, but there are probably files there that can be edited that will change some aspects.
if the graphics are in the nav unit then someone would need to dump the os in the nav to figure out what's what. If the sceond gen nav is based off windows classic the first gen migh t be as well.
question is who is up to and can do the job.

Ill wood try to do this, but i woodnt know how to dump the os on the nav unit itself....that sounds tricky...
Imma get my nav disk now and extract the image to see what i cum up with.
