Guide/DIY: My Sirius install with Blitzsafe for 01 CL-S with pics
Hopefully this will help someone; I'm a major car noob so I know how valuable these guides can be
Thanks to Mantis for selling me his blitzsafe
First, read http://www.abunchofcars.com/diy_page...er_console.htm
on how to remove the trim and side pieces
I've included my own little pic of the screws you need to remove to get the trim piece off
After you get that off, here's what you need to do...
grab your blitzsafe with two fingers like this to get it in there, just imagine this screw driver as the blitzsafe piece
The fat yellow cord in the picture is the blitzsafe already plugged in
Then it takes patience and cursing to work it in there (feel for the spot first)
Here is a pic of the mini stereo to RCA jack cable fed through to the other side of the cupholder. I used a chopstick to feed it through
The antenna is routed around the passenger seat and then up the A pillar, across the headliner and to the sunroof
The install isn't perfect, but I'm satisfied with my results.
the unit is mounted using velcro tape (ghetto I know) but it works and I like the location.

Perfect, and I was just looking for this DIY too.
Any problems with the connections so far? The fist page of this sub-forum has at least 3 threads of people diagnosing problems with the Blitzsafe adapter. I have a new MP3 player that I need to connect but im worried ill have the same problems people are talking about.

Nice Job
Great DIY. I used your photos as well as the abunchofcars.com site to do my install and had no problems. I mounted my Starmate Replay inside the tray in the armrest. Ran all wires through the center console and ran the antenna from passenger side front, down front glass, down passenger door gasket, under kickplate, under passenger seat, under console.
I then drilled a hole in the deep bin in the armrest, carried the wires through, and then widened the opening to the tray in the armrest, where i ran the cables to the unit. Works perfectly. No wires to see, no unit visible to steal.
Thanks again!

I installed my starmate in my eyeglass holder. Fits in there perfectly and I'm also able to close it so it's not visible. Even when its open, its barely visible. All my wire were stuffed in the healiner and the antenna is out the sunroof.
