Got Trunkspace? Finished system pics inside

well after a few weeks with toying and building, and fiberglassing and what not here it is. Tell me what you think

heh, i even was able to keep the cargo net. I'm just elated right now that it is all done. and more over, it sounds awesome. I lost a little output given the way the sub is firing directionally, but sound quality wise it is actually a huge improvement.

I can remake it alot easier than it was to originally make since i now have a mold to work with. otherwise i'm sure i can figure a way out to hook anyone who wants one up. te only question is shipping.

How heavy is it? What are the dimensions? How much are you looking at for just the box? Please let me know asap. Thanks.

the initial pics of the box didnt look that deep, there isnt much room to work wit in that corner(i have my amp box there) what kind of a sub is it? if you were to get a larger sub with a larger magnet a box that small wouldnt work that well.

it does look stick tho. nice job

you would be amazed about the amount of room there is. that is why it is angled as it is, that gave the optimal room for the clearance. hell, i could and did fit my whole head in the box with out any problem. As for the volume, it comes out to about .6 cuft sealed, then stuffed with polyfil to get it right and balanced for the amp.

as for those wanting to inquire about duplicates, pm me so i know who was looking for what and I'll see what I can arrange

Make the box out of cardboard to get a idea on how much wood is needed. Lots of planning not too much work...I'll post pics of mine.. it is basically the same except, I have a 12 inch installed, looks like that is a 10...

Another thing, what is the interior size? you'll have to match that up with the speaker you choose. Most speakers will not work if the area is too small, Less than 0.5 cu.ft. My box is purposly larger to attain the 0.75Cu.ft. inside area..

it's a 12 in mine and with only slight modfication i could easily go as big as a 15 in the box, and as i said earlier it's about .6cuft. but performs at about the same level as a box 1.1cuft. Luckily with my sub it can work with as little as .5 cuft sealed or as big as 1.5cuft sealed. There are always ways to trick subs into performing as if there were more airspace available.

Poly fill is the trick and that is questionable at best.

yup, but it's only questionable because so many people misuse it. most people just stuff a box until it's full, when in all actuallity they may have only need a quarter of that amount.

just awesome. I know it isn't ideal acoustically but look at how perfect it looks and how much space you still have. How did you mount the amps?

i make a wall from 1/2 inch trupan, carpeted it, bolted it to the cross arms behind the rear seat and then attached to amps.

As for the accoustics, you'd be amazed. if you want an spl setup then this isn't for you. but as for as sound quality; well let's put it this way: it is so warm that you can't tell it's there unless you turn it off. I can't wait to finish the rest of the interior and possibly start competing.

Looks awesome Scott. My only problem with the corner install was I did not have enough room to put my golf clubs in there. I love the location though. Excellent work.

I plan on having my audio guys do the same install in my 04 TL, going to use the square 10 inch kicker solobarics, I think they need at most .66 cubic feet to perform 100%. Solobarics would be the best speaker for a small box and space like you see here.

i could be wrong as i really don't like having anything to do with L7 subs, but i could have sworn they were better suited for ported enclosures. Anyway I would definately have to disagree that they are the best for smaller enclosures. I can list off 5 companies that makes small enclosure subs that are better without even thinking.

those old things rock. I've had them for almost 5 or 6 years. and honestly they just won't die. If you read around online you'll see that the apx series is essentially a rebadged Arc Audio amp. So the way i see it, for what i want out of the system, why pay for new amps, when these have been superb for so long.
