Got most of the tsx done...

thought I 'd share the tsx i am about to finish...a very simple and clean set up... the owner wanted good sound quality and the ability to retain as much trunk space as possible.

front stage is an ARC audio 6.5" component set, with woofers in the door spaced out.5 inches, andt he tweet in the stock location. the rear doors were swaped out in favor of a pair of polk coaxials, again spaced out .5 inches. the high level signals were drawn from the rear speaker wires, and connects into a coustic xm2 crossovers, whcih not only divides the signals but also acts as a gain modulator and line out converter, from there, the rca cables connect to a phoenix gold xs4600 amp, powering pair of older infintiy kappa 10" in a fiberglass enclosure underneath the floor. the subs get about 350 watts total, and the front components gets a little over 75 watts, and are connected by speaker wires right into the factor harness behind the stock amp. the rear doors are powered by the stock amp, and the rear deck speakers were removed and the result is a port into the cabin from the trunk. a cover can go over the amp as shown, and the subs are protected by heavy duty grilles. so the trunk is usable...

anyway...comments and questions are welcome.

ran outta fuses of all things, so I wont get to hear it until tommorow heheh

nah, hehe, i have been building installs sans spares for about 6 years now...my philosophy is this, around town, carry a can of fixaflat and your AAA card, on long trips, trown the spare in the trunk...

some cars nowadays dont even come with spares...many people dont know how to change a spare, and others like me, often cant get the lugnuts to come off with the stock wrench cause the damn shop that last worked on the car put them on too tight hehe...

Actually, that is a great idea! I put so much shit in my trunk though, I am sure those speakers would fill up with debris.

oh, forgot to mention that a piece of carpet was cut to use as a trunk mat for that very reason, normall rolled up but will be covering the sub grilles nd things when dirty things are laid in the trunk, though as perhaps many of tsx owners out there, this owner rarely puts anything dirty in there to mess up his clean car

why not tap off the high level output from the front speakers off the back of the deck? that way the customer would still have some sort of fader control. "personally" i prefer audiocontrol stuff over other processors on the market, but i know sometimes it also depend on the customer's budget.

btw, the panel for the false floor... is that a foldable design? i see you have three panels instead of one big panel.

for my own car, if i ever have time to work on it.
head: stock
signal converter, processor: AudiControl Four.1 mounted in the dash pocket
Front speakers: Focal 165K2P
Rear speakers: Stock
Rear Deck: Still pending, some kind of Focal Freeair drivers that's capable of 40hz and above. Focal has lots of special goodies not on the generic catalogue.
Amp: Audison LRx 5.600. 170W x 2 @4ohm for the front and 240W x 1 @2ohm for the rear free air subs.

this way, i can use the factory fader to minimize the factory rear door speaker to strictly rear fill if it turns out to help the staging, else i will just fade it all the way to the front and shut them off. As you can probably see, i am not too into the boom boom anymore. i need to start saving my hearing now. And this kind of setup will be a perfect demo for factory system integration which is gonna be a big thing for the car audio industry.
