not sure who makes them, i just happened to get 65 for free

not a single hot spot, i found out if u cut the tops off them sand them down to be flat it speads the light evenly, u would never know my radio is not stock except for it being a little brighter than the stock lighting and color

didn't even know someone made a how to

but like it says do to any other color than blue like i did is a pain

u need to remove all the blue filtering from the parts, some are actually part of the gauges/switches. the only waty to remove that blue color is with nail polish remover, which basically melts away the blue and u have a clear background

also if u don't cut the led and made it falt u will have bad looking hot spots

also my radio is much different than that one in the how 2, taking it apart is much easier, but the bulbs are soldering and not twisted in like the pics, if i get some more time i'll take more pics

but even with blue leds, you need to remove all the blue filters to get a good results. I managed to remove most of them, except for AC temp knob and defrost. Every other blue filters I removed them.

did u remove the ones from the sunroof and cruise switch?

cause i kow on my CL they aren't removable unless u take nailpolish remove and wipe them off, which can ruin the pic on the switch like i did with my cruise switch

You can remove those too. TL and CL switches are the same. You just need to pull the plastic off. the plastic button faces are snap-ons. Just pull it off, then remove the blue filter inside. the filter is a simple piece of plastic lens with some sticky on one side

I don't mean the sticker. I've done it and I garantee 100% you can remove the blue filters in them. You pull the while piece of plastic where the sticker is on it. You'll see the filter behind it. Once removed, just snap the plastic back in. I never touched the sticker.

i'll try to get a pic of it tonight

it's just snapped together, and they are very tiny leds about 1/4 the size of a dime

that and the navi screen were the hardest parts to do

Hey rbf3511, how much would you charge to do this in my 2003 TL Type-S? I would love to have the blue leds in my car. Your car looks great by the way. I have no navi...

Red would be bad ass too... reminds me of a BMW. I love that red color. I also really like blue. Although I'd choose any color really besides whats in there now, to make it unique. It seems like it would be so hard to do, because you ahve to pull apart the damn dash and everything right?? Well, I'm gonna read the DIY instructions and see if I'm up for this.

i loved the audi gauges and interior... now the bmw it is like wanna be red, kinda orange. but the audi is really really bad ass.

i thought about white, but i don't think white would look that nice. i changed my led for my A/C Auto to super white and the such.

Installed the Audi/BMW style mood LED's in my sunglass compartment, drilled two nice little holes.

here is my old gauges, i got so sick of the white "lexus" style and the TL-P gauges, i switched it out with TL-S gauges and wired my TCS to VSA and also got the exclamation mark to blink when TCS engauges.

it'd take some guts to pull apart the whole dash, then open up all the components then solder. If you have some soldering skills, you'll be half way there.
