Good Location for the XM Roady?

I just installed an XM Delphi Roady, and i really want to put it where the "not an ashtray" is. Has anybody figured out a way to do this? Will it even fit? Any other ideaas for locating this thing?

I want it to be concealed and to look as stock as possible. Thanks for any suggestions!

well after searching, i noticed the recent thread with the XM Commander install. at first i regret not getting that for the clean install. but i would rather be able to keep the existing power source in the ash tray compartment.

i think it is possible to still mount the Roady in the ashtray. i am not really worried about the scroll button because i'll just buy the remote. the wires on the side are another issue...

is anyone even listening to me, lol...

i dont think the roady will fit very well there because the display will be a little too high in the compartment to read it very well.
also that area has to have a good amount of clearance because the underside of the compartment door has a lump on it that will hiit the display as it closes. i think the roady is still too wide to keep the lighter socket.

you must remove the power socket. even if you custom fab a new trim ring for the commander display it still wont fit.
who cares about the stupid plug anyway? my radar detector is hard wired and there is another in the center console. you could easily rewire another one into the car if you had to or get a Y adapter and use the single in the console.
