i have the kenwood 6907 6x9s in the back and a JL 12w6 powered by da 4 ch. pioneer amp. I'm thinkin getting another 2 ch. amp for the JL and power the front speakers with the 4 ch. amp. Or maybe i will just power the front speakers with the bose amp...but i dunno if they will sond good =T

Do not do this!! Your front speakers are the most important part of your system. How does your sub sound right now? I am guessing you are running channels 1-2 to your front speakers and channels 3-4 bridged to you subwoofer right? Or are you using channels 1-2 for your 6x9's and channels 3-4 bridged to your sub?

If you are looking at getting another amp I would say to use a new 2 channel for your front speakers and keep your existing setup for your 6x9's and sub.

As for speaker selection, do you like your music a little brighter or smoother? Do you have a TL or a CL (sorry I didn't catch this part)?

i have a CL and i'm running the 4 ch. amp for the back speakers and the sub. The sub sounds ok...its being underpowered so it doesn't shake the car or anything, but im fine with the bass. i like speakers that are smooth...i dont like treble to be so high that hurts my ears. are rainbow speakers any good? and how about Kenwood KFCP603? because i have the kenwood in the back and im just wondering do car speakers need to be voice-matched like home speakers do?

Boston Acoustics, Polk or Alpine... they all make one hell of a speaker.

Voice matching is not a concern because you're not trying to create a seemless soundstage for moving effects and dialog. Its rather hard to do in a car anyways because there are so many variables working against you...

For around the $200 mark try one of these:

CDT CA 60
Crystal Csc 60S
A/D/S/ 236is

If you can swing it for $300 you can get the

CDT CL-61 (they are shipping with free rear fill speakers. Not sure if you want them but you could sell them after)

Image Dynamics CXS64

Helix (Brax) HXS236 MKII

These are in no particular order but if I had to choose (since it seems we have similar listening tastes) I would choose The Crystal's from the first list and the Helix speakers from the second. The CDT CL-61 is a very nice sounding speaker and are selling for $299. You could probably pick up around $45-$55 for those free rear fill speakers so that is something to consider. No matter which ones you get just make sure you amp them properly...

Let me know if this helps.
