Good Five Channel Amp....Ideas?

Looking for a good five channel amp, doesn't have to be top of the line...but the sony Xplod looks like shit. Anyone have any ideas or experience in this area. Trying to keep the cost down as much as I can without sacrificing too much quality. Thanks
Dan.

5 channel

Unfornately when it comes to music and you try to keep the cost down you get what you pay for: more distortion, less true wattage capabilities, overheating, etc. The JL Audio amp is solid and will do you well. Rockford also has a pretty good line out right now but I am not sure if they offer a 5-channel.

I picked up an old school soundstream rubicon 805 for 470.

Supposed to be pretty pimp, if you can find one.

So you have 4 Kappas or else 4 Pioneer's? Which models? Just give me the model numbers. What are you planning on using the 5th channel for?

No, I have the pioneers installed....6x9 in the back and 6.5 in the front. I have a hookup to get the Kappas and I've pretty much fronted the money, but I can still bail and sell them for a good bit more than I'm going to pay. It's just a big hassle to take the doors off and shit. The other channel will be pushing a JL 10w0. I don't want earth shattering bass...just quality, deep sound. Nothing to break windows.
Dan

I'll try and find the rest of the numbers...but the pioneers are
ts-a1161 6.5
ts-a6965 6x9 2 ways

Well it doesn't take a ton of power to run the system you have planned. I would suggest the Helix HXA500MKII or the Helix HXA500Q. I think it would be more than enough for your current system and even leave room for future additions. The quality is top notch and pricing is very fair.

Talk to Peter Lufrano at www.theautophile.com he is the national distributor for Brax products and knows pretty much EVERYTHING about audio. He is a great guy. If you tell him that Bryan So sent you he will give you a really good price (I spent almost $30KUS on various things from him over the years...)

Yup, listen to autophile1. I have the Helix HXA-500Q and it is an awesome amp. Very flexible.

I am running CDT Audio 6.5" braxials in the front and coaxs in the back. I have 1 CDT MS-100 sub in the trunk and it sounds great.
