Good Deal
Good Deal
Went to Tweeter and check their mobile electronics out. He had a 10 inch W3 in a High Output Bandpass box for $200 and a Kicker 400.1 with Bass knob for $350. Does that sound right? He also said for installation, tax and wiring would be another $150. Want to know if that is a good deal and if I should move on it.
kicker 400.1 for $205 (including shipping) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18797
the sub and box sound like a pretty good deal, and installation price seems good if you are getting a high quality amp kit. Make sure its 4 gauge power and ground wiring, and preferably is not from some no-name company.
I bought both of my amps on eBay and saved around $500. I think it may void the warranty, I am not sure. Personally I don't really care, I don't think I have ever used a warranty on any electronics...but may be something you want to look into. Seems like a reasonable price for everything if you don't go the eBay route though.

There is defenetelly advantages to buying stuff at tweeter, you get the warranty and professional install. The prices seems to be OK. The only thing that you wanna make sure is that during the installation they don't call you and tell you that they forgot to mention that you need something else at extra charge. so buy the time you are done, the install is not $150, but 200 or 250.
Prices sound reasonable, but the only thing is whether or not you like the sound of the bandpass box? It's all personal preference, everyone hears differently? Bandpass boxes make the output of the sub louder, the powerhandling goes down, efficiency goes up, and you lose some frequency response. If you do listen to all types of music in your car, I'd lean away from the box, but that's just me personally. Overall, it doesn't sound like you're getting screwed over, just need to make sure that you like the sound of it. The bass knob is a must have....
