the GHETTO Bass rattle from the spoiler???!! =(

Ok guys, i finally upgraded my doors, amps, woofers. My sub is not all that I just have one Cerwin-Vega IT 12.0 The bass is not all that boomy but it's accurate and crisp and loud enough for my neighbors to be complaining. The question is..... How the phuck do I stop my spoiler from rattling?? IT sounds so ghetto everytime the bass thumps, the spoiler rattles and rattles. It sounds worst than the annoying sunroof rattle i used to have. All my friends love the sound of my ride on the insided but, outside, unless you are down the block or eight houses down OR five cars back, YOU WILL HERE ME COMING AND THE RATTLE. I want to stop the rattle without removing my spoiler for good. What do I do, I need help thx!!

Hey Nick - Dynamating the deck lid? Should I just do the whole trunk or top part of the trunk, i am guessing the top part is the trunk lid right? How much for the dynamat of the trunk or lid. You have a nice setup but I am not trying to go all out for my system. I probably spent about a little over a grand for everything including install.

OH yeah, nick, will this completely eliminate the rattle or just minimize it some? You have a spoiler too, how does yours sound??!!

I just did the whole trunk. It made a huge difference. Doing the trunk lid was probably the part that gave me the best performance.

For cost effectiveness, just do the deck lid (top). Thats what makes it rattle. You supposedly get better sound performance if you dynamat the trunk!!!

Have you ever tried adjusting the bump stops on the bottom of the trunk lid? It made a huge difference on my car, Soopa's and Astroboy's.

OMG!!! FINALLY SOMEONE WITH MY EXACT PROBLEM!!! I have 2 layers of dynamat lining my whole lid, I've tried adjusting the trunk stops but the rattling still avails. I don't want to take off my spoiler so I'm thinking about foaming inside the spoiler. Anyone tried that before? I'm hoping that will redude the rattles.

Ok, the bump stops will be first. Next, dynamat the trunk lid/or entire trunk. Thx for the replies guys. I hope that works, my speaker thumps LOUD and some points i think the spoiler is going to fall off.

wuzzz619 - I might foam out the spoiler next if the spoiler keeps rattling. My trunk doesn't rattle it's just the spoiler.

spoiler rattle

I just installed 2 10" Alpine type E subs and 1 MTX 4250D amp. I amgetting really bad shaking from spoiler too. You will never get rid of it, but you should atleast dynamat the trunklid if not the whole thing. I also brought mine in to get looked at, and I was told it would help if a put a strip inbetween the spoiler(metal part) and the light on the bottom middle of the spoiler. It seems a lot of the noise is coming from there. I don't think you can put it between the spoiler and deck lid, but I will check it out. I will get this done in next week though. Iv'e only had the amp and subs installed for 2 day and love them.:P

The other thing you can try is getting Trimbrite Door Edge FOR TRUCKS. It is only like 5-6 bucks. Just line the whole trunk edge. It has worked for a few people and is a cheap fix, plus it looks really good on my Satin Silver..
