6.5 but 5.25 might fit better. If you go with 6.5, you might have to use a lift ring and might have to trim the opening a little bit.

 

When I put the morel 5.25's in they barely fit. I would think that most better 6.5s have large enough mags where it's an issue, and I'd plan on 5.25s in most situations. It's possible the DLS 6.5 with the big VC and the small mag would fit...

 

Yes, the depth that you have to work with will be an issue, you will need to get a relatively shallow speaker - not one with a big ass magnet.

Focal also makes a slim series in their Polyglass line - I have them and they fit very easy, without having to make a speaker ring/spacer.
