Friends system I am building

Here is the one amp I finished this weekend the other one is half way done. I have created the box and amp racks also so far. none of it has been carpeted yet and these are the first pictures I have of any of it cause I just got my digi cam back. I will take more Pictures I as finish more of the system. The system is not made out of the best components so we are trying to make it look as nice as possible.

To paint the amps.
I used rust-oleum premium spray paint in a can. http://[URL=http://www.rustoleu...Metallic Paints [/URL] I used Auto Primer by them Also and then I used High Gloss Clear Coat. I sand the amp first to rough it up and then did 3 coats of primer and then sanded the final coat with 600 grit. Then I did 4 coats of silver and then sanded it with 1000 grit paper and then i finall did 2 coats of blue cause we didnt want it to be to dark. Then i wets sanded it with 1500. Then I did 4 coats of High gloss clear coat.

Here are the pics of the box and amp racks and the other amp. The other amp stil gets a kenwood decal in silver put on it. The box and amp racks still have to be carpeted and then installed in the car. Also there are picture of the two subs that I just finished painting about 10 minutes ago.

I was more curious if the paint lets heat through on the amps... is it hot there yet?

so far the paint has not come off at all. I painted them first with plastic primer and then painted them with the color.

The only one hook up is the kenwood so far because he has not purchased new door speakers year at all. The kenwood has a built in fan so it has not gotten hot really at all. Sometime in the next month we are going to hook up the alpine.

I'm thinking about getting a system for my car, how much would the same setup cost if I got it done at an audio shop? I'll be working this summer, but I don't want to blow my whole summers pay check haha!

what kind of car is that? looks like the paint from an early 90s civic.

BTW, i like the install, but it seems as if you uneccessarily wasted a lot of trunk space where the box flares out of both sides.

because it was inpossible to find that grean now we ended up using a different shade of green for the interior but it is his car so as long as he pays me I dont care really. I mean I try to get him to do things that look good but he also does have much money to spend on his car.

It is a 98 Dodge Neon. Actually the wheel wells are almost right up against the back of those pieces maybe an inch or two behind them but not much space. Also we wanted teh amps fairly visible and not hidden.
