Post Focal Utopia 165W

Has anyone successfully mounted Focal Utopia 165Ws in the front doors of a 2001 TL? My installer says I need the smaller 136W's.

I am about to have the 165W's installed on Friday or the following weekend depending on Ron's schedule. I believe (and I am only going from memory here. I could check my prior emails) that ron said they will fit. Might need a spacer but that it will fit in the stock location and that anyone looking at it will not know that you have new speakers. I am not sure where he is putting the tweeter.

Ron can probably better answer it all for ya.:-)

Does anyone know if Focal still has the 7" dual voice coil mid-woofer that they used to sell a couple years ago. I have no idea what the model # is, I should have bought them then, but I didnt have a use for them.

Focal still makes the 180W which is a 7" mid 2way along with tweets and crossover. Haven't seen any midbasses in 7"? They do make a 8" but depth would be killer. You should be able to install the 6.5 with a mounting ring no problem.

The 165W will go in the door, but the door itself needs to be trimmed to accomodate it. Never the less, it will fit with that modification and a spacer.

thanks ValueTL and StreetEffectz for your response. I still have a wayz to go before starting my Audio project (like actually buying a car), but I was just considering the options of what I already had and equipment that I might want to get.
