There's really only 1 way to do Slamology. You have to be there for the party on Saturday night. That's what makes this show so great. Yes, it's a multipoint competition for less than most single pointers, and it's a huge car show, but the party Saturday night is the best part of this show...

What made you switch from HDCs to SA-12s? I'm running 2 Sa-8s right now off of an AQ1200. Sounds amazing

Indianapolis. More specifically, Marion County Fairgrounds just south of Indy. And the party's at the Red Roof Inn Indy South (or some combination of those words). The host hotel is right across the street, but all us poor folk spend money on audio and less on hotels...

It is probably going to cost more in gas for me to drive there than hotel and food. Im getting raped right now Hopefully once im out of school(tomorrow) ill start working almost full time, and ill have my rebuild done. Then i can save and hopefully go down there for 2 days.

threw a box together for a show. I like how it turned out. I couldnt do the 4th order because my goofy ass trunk. Dont worry. The box is getting covered and everything will be all nice when im done. I was tired of not having bass. It did a 143.8 on the dash and 145.9 in the kick. Im pretty happy with how it sounds. Just need to do some things to the car now. Oh and i got a new amp, less power but my electrical can keep up with this one(AQ 3500).

With a 4th order, you don't need that much power

Those would get moving with 350-400 each

I may. I know the port is going to be rounded off. Im going to cover it and make trim boards for the sides(it will be a different material than the rest of the box).

Sweet build, do you have any measurements or pictures of the underside of your false floor?

Thanks

No measurements. When I take out the box i can measure it. The underside looks just like particle board.

just a warning... particle board can hold moisture, mildew/mold.

My lady's old car and water leaking in the trunk area and mold started growing on the carpet even.

Perhaps some water treatment for prevention?

I might. I might just redo it though, one that fits more exact. I made this when i just figured out how to use a jig saw lol. I have alot of work to do on this thing, just waiting on some money to get all the materials to make it look nice.

Oh i had a quick question if you see this. If i build an amp rack on the side of my trunk, do you think there will be any loading issues or anything(because of the lesser volume on one side)? I need to figure out something with these amps. I may just build a rack for the AQ and put the 4 channel in the spare tire well, but i like having it easily accessible.

This goes for anyone as well. Any ideas on what to do with my sub amp and 4 channel?

No real issues there, its just air compression for the most part.

Why not trim out a panel on top of the box? If you need some ideas, I know the DOA guys have done some pretty nice looking trunk setups with the amps on top. Would keep them nice and accessible for sure. Some rubber strip or something like that would keep the amp board isolated too...

Yah i think im going to keep the 3500 on top of the box, and raise it up so it can cool and stuff. I know in my friends camero his amp(SD 5k) is ontop of the box. Thanks for your input.

Slide-out drawer with the amp in it. Plus you can build this so you actually have some trunk room, if you want. A false floor!

that looks clean as hell, but i dont have room to do something like that. I might make a little compartment on the side for the 4 channel that will have the top cut out(itll hid all the wires but still show off the amp). I need to order wire first for this.
