Finally PICS of my XM Commander install
Here are the pics i promised from my install. You can see the antenna is mounted on the dash against the front drivers side window. very clean and no wires. The pocket below the nav screen was utilized and still is able to close and hide the unit. It is FM modded but no noise from alt due to grounding the antenna.
Here is the antenna
Unit hides completely in the pocket
Unit off and notice the custom trim plate made from black plastic from a standard head unit kit
Unit up and running. And yes i listen to country too!! haha
Enjoy the pics. More coming of other mods

Hey whoseanthony....
WOW!! That looks GREAT!! Who did the install for you? I see we both live in OC so hopefully I can use the same installer. I've been dying to get XM in my car!
Thanks!

I did the install took about 2-3 hours. I dont have metalic tint. I have formulaONE tint (dark) all the way around and on the sunroof. It is a ceramic tint that doesnt fade and is super expensive but if u have the antenna in the window or navi or xm it is worth it. Costs about $650 including felt on all the windows. I have this tint on my 2004 MB E500 and My 04 IS 300. Beautiful!! Check out www.thetintpros.com for more info. They are the only authorized installer in SoCal for this item

Looks good man
I installed my XM Commander in the "Not an Ashtray" bin below that storage compartment because i didnt want to give up any valuable storage space. Also, that fake ashtray bin was pretty much a waste anyway...
Check it oot http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...t=xm+commander

Same here...except I don't have the nice mounting plate you have, I just stuck the mounting plate it came with on the not an ashtray (after I removed the cig. lighter and the red felt). Don't laugh, I know its not perfect, but everyone I ask thinks it looks factory, except that the door won't close, but then I never would close it anyways (my cupholders are always open too). It was a good solution for not having many tools I think.

Using that method of install - 2 questions:
1) How easy is it to pull out after the car goes back on lease (as is my situation)
2) Do you still have access to the DC adapter in the "not an ashtray" compartment?
Otherwise, I'm sure I can figure out how to run the sat wire. Jeeze.. I just gotta figure out if I have the balls to do this myself or if I should bring pictures to a pro installer and let them do it - and then let them remove it
Ah well. Gettin married this week - and it's the first thing I'm doing after I get back!
